The money was donated by the members of the KMC after they heard about a fundraiser that Davis organized last fall. At the presentation Palmer stated, “Over the Christmas break the KMC put together a matching fundraiser of our own. One of the members offered a dollar-for-dollar match up to $500.00 for a total of $1000. And the match was met. As a way of offering our thanks to you, the kids and the choir program, this money is to help support your choral music program at Maple Street.” While the KMC receives support from the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation and other donors, Palmer emphasized that the money given to Davis was contributed entirely by the KMC members.
