history
We are a public, community organization founded over 90 years ago dedicated to the singing of male choral music. Our musical performance style is typical of a college male glee club.
We perform at least two public concerts annually for the Kalamazoo Community: a Christmas concert in December and a spring concert in April. We also perform locally upon specific request.
We are under the directorship of Erik Jacobson. We rehearse from September thru April on Tuesday evenings from
7 – 9 p.m. in the choir room at the Maple Street Magnet Middle School, 922 West Maple Street, in Kalamazoo, MI. We make friends and have fun while working together to learn varied music for public presentation and enjoyment.
We derive our support from membership dues, concert free-will offerings, public support contributions and generous support from the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation.
The Irving S. Gilmore Foundation grant allows us to recruit local college students to participate in our scholarship program which grants each student $1,000 for the year or $500 for each semester as an extension of their educational growth and experience.
